wherever.audio

Information for Podcasters and Publishers

We sincerely hope that wherever.audio helps to grow your audience, build strong connections with them, and provide an excellent experience of your content!

In designing the app we’ve taken a number of steps to further those goals.

If your RSS feed sets a channel-level link tag, wherever.audio links back to your site from the globe symbol 🌐 at the upper right of the page.

Supports the funding tag

If your RSS feed sets the channel-level podcast:funding tag, wherever.audio displays your funding tag prominently on the show page, next to usage information to help listeners assign value to their experience.

Reports listen time

Wherever stores local listening time for each show, and reports it back to the user on the show page, as well as a top 5 for the month on the all shows page.

Reports skip time

Wherever also stores skip time for each show, to help listeners identify shows to support directly (e.g. high listen time, high skip time).

Supports paid/private feeds

Wherever lets users add custom feeds, to support platforms that create per-user, private feeds for paid subscribers. Wherever also prompts users to mark these feeds as private, to prevent accidental posting or sharing.

Wherever makes it easy for your listeners to promote and share your content, through linking to your show page or a specific episode, or equivalently via QR code. Before offering a sharing link, Wherever checks whether a show feed is public or private, and refuses to share the link if private.

Clearly documented blocking instructions

If for some reason you’d prefer to block your content from appearing in Wherever, we support that too. Please see these instructions.
